Pets Seeking A New Home For The Holidays
Button
Button, an adorable and gentle Chihuahua, is looking for a loving new home. Oakdale Animal Shelter volunteers will be at Riverbank Petco with shelter pets available for adoption on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

At night homeless dogs and cats dream of being warm and safe in the loving arms of their forever family. It’s a dream you can make come true this holiday season when you adopt one of the City of Oakdale Animal Shelter’s deserving homeless pets.

The Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance (OSPA) is sponsoring a special adoption promotion, “A Home for the Holidays,” to help find loving homes for the pets who have arrived at the shelter through no fault of their own. From Dec. 2 through Dec. 31, the adoption fee for all available cats and kittens will be $25, and the adoption fee for all available adult dogs will be $50, with OSPA funding the difference in fees. The adoption fee includes the spay or neuter, microchip and vaccinations. For photos and information about available pets, please visit OSPA’s website at www.oakdaleshelterpetalliance.org and click on Adopt to learn more.

Can’t afford to fix your pet? Want to prevent unplanned litters of kittens and puppies? Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance offers spay/neuter vouchers for cats and dogs to pet owners residing in the 95367 or 95361 zip code areas. Vouchers are valid for spay/neuter services at ACT Spay Neuter Clinic in Stockton. Free shuttle service for pets is available from Oakdale and Riverbank.

To obtain cat vouchers, bring proof of residency within the 95367 or 95361 zip code area. Cat voucher prices for those who qualify as low income (must provide EBT card, permanent Medi-Cal card, or PG&E Cares Program proof) are $20 in cash for each tame cat and for feral cats in traps, $10 each. Cat voucher prices for non-low income residents are $30 for tame cats and $20 for feral cats. For dog vouchers, you must bring proof of zip code residency, and proof of low income (EBT card, permanent Medi-Cal card, or PG&E Cares Program proof). Dog vouchers are $40 each, cash only. Vouchers for Chihuahuas, Chihuahua mixes, pit bulls, or pit bull mixes do not require low income qualification. Limit three vouchers per address. You do not need to bring your pet with you to apply for a voucher. Some restrictions apply. Call Betsie Corwin at 209 543-5434 for more information. Pet owners may apply for vouchers at Petco, Riverbank Crossroads Shopping Center on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. or the Oakdale Animal Shelter, 9800 Liberini Ave., Oakdale on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. until noon.
