Raiders Disappointed In Foothills Contests

The Riverbank Raiders Youth Football teams traveled to Sonora on Saturday for week eight of the 2015 season. Just one more game, at home, remains in the season.

In the Jr. Novice game, for 7-8 year olds, no score is kept.

In the Novice game, 9 and 10 year olds, Sonora won, 26-7. The Raider Jr. Varsity, for 11 and 12 year olds, saw a similar result, coming up short on a 27-6 score.

The Varsity team, for 13 and 14 year olds, got blanked, 47-0.

The final slate of games for the season comes on Saturday, Oct. 17, on the home field at the Riverbank Sports Complex, on Morrill Road, west of Oakdale Road.

If there is one, the Jr. Novice game starts at 12:30 p.m., with the Novice at 2 p.m., Jr. Varsity at 4 p.m. and the Varsity game kicking off about 6 p.m.

The Raiders will host the Amador County Eagles from Sutter Creek.

The Motherlode Valley Football League 2015 season wraps up with first round playoffs on Oct. 24 and second round on Oct. 31. Their ‘Superbowl’ is scheduled for Nov. 7 at Angels Camp.
