Red Ribbon

Much like the festivities of Homecoming Week recently, Red Ribbon Week has enveloped the campus at Riverbank High School.

Intended to help spread the word about fighting drug use and drug abuse this week, lunchtime activities on the quad at the school have been scheduled, with a different theme each day.

On Monday, Oct. 26, the theme was ‘Follow Your Dreams,’ designated Pajama Day. On Tuesday, it was ‘Lei Off Drugs, Hawaiian Day.

Today, Wednesday, Oct. 28 is Western Day, with ‘Give Drugs the Boot’ as the theme.

Tomorrow is Twin Day, with ‘Friends Don’t Let Friends Do Drugs’ as the theme. Finally, on Friday, Oct. 30, it’s ‘Drugs Are Scary’ as the theme, and students wearing their Halloween costumes, but without masks or costume weapons allowed.

At lunchtime, there will be a Scare Away Drugs costume contest in the quad, with the top three costumes awarded prizes.

Friday is also the final game of the 2015 football season. It’s a home game, with the Johansen High School Vikings of Modesto coming to town.
