Refuse Service Offers Christmas Tree Disposal
Tree

There is a place to get rid of those droopy, dry Christmas trees that have brightened homes over the past few holiday weeks.

During the first two weeks of January, Riverbank residents can dispose of their trees by placing them at the curb on the street in front of their homes on the day of their regular garbage pick-up. Remove all ornaments and tinsel prior to putting the tree out for collection.

City officials say that the most recent contract with Gilton Solid Waste Management calls for the company to dispose of the trees in the city. They say that, after the two-week period, if trees still need to be discarded, residents can cut them up and place them in their grey recycle container on their regular pick up day.
