The Oakdale-Escalon-Riverbank-Waterford Relay For Life will be hosted May 5 and 6 at the Oakdale High School soccer fields. Teams are gearing up for the event with fundraisers and special activities. Two teams, Anita’s Angels and Mountain View Church, are selling tickets for the Stockton Heat vs. Bakersfield Condors hockey games this weekend. Saturday, March 3 features a 6 p.m. game time with a Star Wars Night theme and Sunday, March 4 features a game time of 5 p.m. with Zoo Night as the theme. The Stockton Heat is the American Hockey League affiliate of the Calgary Flames and plays at Stockton Arena. Garage Sale Set
Come to a weekend garage sale and support the Friends For Hope team in the local Relay For Life event, with a wide variety of items available. The team garage sale is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 352 Shadow Creek Ave., Oakdale. Proceeds from the sale of items will benefit the team in their fundraising for the 2018 Relay For Life.
Tri Tip Drive Thru
The annual Tri-Tip Drive Thru dinner hosted by the Escalon based Nuts For Life Relay For Life team is scheduled for Saturday, March 3 at Saron Lutheran Church, 1742 North St., Escalon. Tickets for the tri-tip dinner are available pre-sale only; call 838-2892 or 838-1838 for more information or to purchase tickets. The dinner will be offered from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on March 3. Cost per ticket is $40 and that gets you dinner for four, including a whole BBQ tri-tip, four baked potatoes, a bag of salad, a loaf of French bread and a two-liter bottle of soda. Dinners are delivered to your car; no need to get out and pick it up.
