Riverbank Artist Nabs Best Of Show Accolades

More than 100 pieces of fine art are currently on display in the Delicato Tasting Room in Manteca – including a piece titled “Robots” by Riverbank artist Eliseo Vazquez Contreras. The oil painting was entered in the ‘Whimsical’ category for the annual fine art competition and took first place in the category as well as being chosen as Best of Show.

Over 165 entries submitted were judged with just over 100 accepted for display. The art is on display until Friday, Feb. 21 and all art displayed is for sale.

Vazquez Contreras additionally received an Honorable Mention in the Landscape category for his oil painting, Balloon Seller.

A special reception with the artists is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m., giving art enthusiasts and wine tasting visitors at Delicato a chance to visit with the artists. At 3 p.m., awards will be presented to the ribbon winners as part of the Art Show Awards Ceremony.

This year, there is a vast selection of themes ranging from landscapes to farm life, wild animals to elegant portraits.

The art exhibit is on display in the winery Tasting Room daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Delicato Family Wines is in Manteca, off Highway 99 at French Camp Road, exit 246. Those coming to view the artwork are encouraged to vote for their favorite and the artist who collects the most visitor votes by Wednesday, Feb. 19 will receive a $100 Delicato Gift Card.

Artists Joan Cardoza, Chloe E. Fonda, Frank Norton, Steven James Showers, James R. Tracey and Marilyn Zinner of Oakdale, along with Teresa Duchscher of Escalon all had artwork accepted for display in the show.
