Riverbank Cares brings the spirit of caring and giving to the Riverbank community with their annual Turkey Drive, slated this weekend. Volunteers will be out in force on Saturday, Nov. 21 on Patterson Road in front of Les Schwab and directly across from Galaxy Theatre from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Organizers of the Riverbank Cares organization hope that you will find a way to help ease the want that will be felt by so many this holiday season.

Volunteers will be collecting turkeys and other non-perishable food donations on Saturday as well as cash donations if that is more convenient for donors that may not have time to shop.

When shopping for your own holiday meal, organizers ask that you purchase an extra turkey and/or some of the traditional fixings and donate it to their cause to help fill food needs.

Organizers have made it as easy as possible to assist those less fortunate in the community and they have been doing so for over five years through this ‘cares’ program.

The food received will be distributed on Friday, Dec. 18 at St. Frances of Rome church in Riverbank. The Riverbank Cares Committee is an organization that has collaborated with the City of Riverbank and other charitable groups within the community to make sure no local residents go without a hot holiday meal.
