Riverbank Deputies Report Variety Of Service Calls

A Riverbank Police Services deputy provided extra patrol along Rivercove all Memorial Day weekend due to the closure of the river access for riparian habitat restoration. Numerous people from out of the area tried to access the river throughout the weekend.

Just before midnight on Sunday, May 30 deputies stopped a vehicle near Topeka and Eighth streets; the 31-year-old male driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

Just after noon on May 30, deputies received a call of male assaulting a female in a vehicle in the 3700 block of Atchison. They located the vehicle in the area and while trying to arrest Paul Foughts-Osuna, 29, he physically resisted deputies. Foughts-Osuna was taken into custody for domestic battery and resisting arrest.

During the afternoon of Saturday, May 29 deputies observed a 55-year-old man walking across the First Street bridge near Jacob Myers Park. They knew the man had an active warrant for his arrest, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Just after midnight on Thursday, May 27 deputies arrested a 26-year-old man near Eighth and Kansas for possession of drug paraphernalia.

On the morning of Wednesday, May 26 deputies stopped a vehicle near Jackson and Patterson for vehicle code violations. The driver, a 46-year-old man, was subsequently arrested for an outstanding warrant.

During the afternoon of May 26, traffic deputies investigated a three-vehicle collision near Patterson Road and First Street. One party was transported to the hospital for complaint of pain.

Just after midnight on Tuesday, May 25 deputies responded to Shaefer Court for the report of a drive by shooting. A residence was hit by gunfire; no one was hit or injured. The case is ongoing.

Around noon on Tuesday, May 25 deputies responded to the 2700 block of Briarcliff for a disturbance. A 28-year-old was arrested in connection with the incident.

Late in the evening on Tuesday, deputies located the responsible in a hit and run collision near Morrill and Oakdale roads. The driver, a 29-year-old man, was arrested for hit and run and driving under the influence.
