Riverbank Library Slates July Events

The Riverbank Library will offer programs for children, teens and adults this July.

The Mayor’s Book Club will be held on Monday, July 11 at 11 a.m. Mayor Richard O’Brien will read a story to preschool age children and their families at the library following Story Time.

The library will celebrate the release of J.K. Rowling and Jack Thorne’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child with a party on Tuesday, July 19 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Children and teens will have the opportunity to make lollipop brooms, pom-pom owls, fizzy potions and wands. Snacks will be provided. The Harry Potter Party is sponsored by the Friends of the Riverbank Library.

Magic Dan will perform on Wednesday, July 20 at 3:30 p.m. Children and their families are invited to enjoy this free magic show.

The Riverbank Library Book Club will meet on Tuesday, July 26 at 4 p.m. to discuss ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’ by Khaled Hosseini. Library book clubs provide an opportunity for community members to expand their knowledge of books through meaningful discussion with others. A limited number of books are available for checkout at the library’s circulation desk.
