Although Riverbank Police Services (RPS) officers have assisted with some traffic control issues due to downed trees and they have removed larger items that the winds had blown into the roadways causing traffic hazards due to the storm cells that swept through our area, they are always on alert to handle crime.

On Thursday, Jan. 19 at approximately 11:30 p.m. RPS Deputies were dispatched to the Chevron in Riverbank at 2225 Claribel Road due to a report of an armed robbery. Two suspects entered the store, brandished a weapon and robbed the business. No one was injured during the robbery.

Deputies were able to locate and detain the suspects as they were leaving the area. Three suspects were ultimately arrested, and a weapon and other evidence were also recovered. It is possible that the subjects arrested are involved in other similar robberies, said police officials.

Charges regarding this case include conspiracy, receiving stolen property, robbery, carrying a concealed firearm/loaded firearm in a public place, and criminal possession of a firearm while masked. Two suspects were caught on foot and the third suspect was caught in a vehicle parked in the area. They complied with orders and were taken into custody without further incident.
