The Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance (OSPA) recently celebrated the completion of 3,000 dog and cat spay/neuters through its voucher program since the program started in August 2011. Anne McFarlin, a first time voucher customer from Oakdale, was all smiles when she was presented with a Petco gift basket that was provided by Billie Mende in recognition of reaching the program milestone.
OSPA volunteer Betsie Corwin and Eva Kennedie, ACT Spay Neuter Clinic Director, presented the gift basket in recognition of reaching the milestone with the voucher program.
“We fix 35 to 40 dogs and cats through our program every month,” said Debi Scoles, OSPA Vice-President.
Do you have a pet and can’t afford to get it fixed? OSPA volunteers will be on hand to provide low cost spay/neuter vouchers for cats and dogs for residents of Oakdale and Riverbank at the Petco adoption event on Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., as well as at the Oakdale Animal Shelter from 10 a.m. until noon.
“OSPA’s voucher program is our biggest project and helps reduce the unwanted, unplanned litters that are at risk of entering the Oakdale Animal Shelter,” said Lisa Dolling, OSPA President.
