Sports Boosters Club Sets Snack Bar Schedule

Now that everyone has had some time off for the Thanksgiving celebration, the RHS Bruins Boosters organization this week is starting up the winter sports schedule, announcing what days and games the group will open their snack bar for the season.

They’re expecting to open for Bruin boys soccer pre-season matches beginning with the games on Dec. 4 and 11.

League play for soccer begins at home on Jan. 9, with more matches here on Jan. 21, 23, and 28, then two more home matches in February.

The first opportunity for snack bar duty was this week. Girls basketball started on Monday.

The annual Tip-Off Tournament for boys basketball will be Thursday through Saturday this week.

The Boosters are also helping gather food for needy families in Riverbank.

Canned food items can be dropped off any time the snack bar is open, either for home soccer or basketball games. Donors will receive a free soda that night.

And as always, Boosters are looking for help in the snack bar during those home games.

The Boosters group is made up of parents of athletes, former parents and RHS alumni who work to raise money for their scholarship program, and participants are supposed to work a set number of hours volunteering at the snack bar. Winter sports is a good time to complete the volunteer hours, because of all the sports and the attendant home games during this season.

Boosters members said those needing to complete their volunteer hours for scholarships should sign up now.
