Riverbank Mayor Richard D. O’Brien is poised to deliver his ‘State of the City’ address tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 24 at the Galaxy Luxury+ Theatre on Patterson Road.

The annual address is set to begin at 6 p.m.

Last month, the Mayor previewed what he might be discussing in his address.

The Riverbank Federated Women’s Club hosted the Mayor at its January meeting. Although the mayor told them he hadn’t written his presentation yet, he did go over several of the topics he’s planning to cover in his formal address with them.

Then, he discussed the kind of growth he’s expecting Riverbank to experience in coming years, both to the east and the west. He said the city would have to expand its ‘sphere of influence’ to include annexation in both directions. Also, he discussed pending development in the ‘Bruinville’ area, near Riverbank High School.

Tonight, he’s expected also to discuss strategic planning the city is working on, along with possible negative impacts to the city budget over the next few years.

Galaxy Luxury+ Theatres is at 2525 Patterson Road.
