California Avenue Elementary had a very exciting guest visit their school on a recent Friday in the early morning hours that had the students energized and excited. KAT Country 103 Radio Station DJ Jungle Jim and his country trumpet made their way to Riverbank to join the students in the Pledge of Allegiance in a live broadcast.

The Friday morning pledge sponsored by the California Lottery and hosted by the Kat Country morning show features a school in the area. The kids get to go on air and talk about their school, what they are having for lunch and even ask the DJ’s a couple questions.

California Avenue Elementary Principal Kathy Briggs was also on air talking about how special the school and students are in Riverbank.

“The kids loved being on the radio,” stated Briggs. “They were super excited about being on the radio. Jungle Jim played the trumpet. They were able to tell a couple of jokes on the radio.”
