Tax Help, Crafts, And More Offered At Riverbank Library

Community members can enjoy free crafts, tax preparation assistance, and book club events at the Riverbank Library this February.

Community members are invited to receive free tax preparation assistance from IRS trained Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteers on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tax prep sessions will be held starting Feb. 7 through March 28. Advance registration is required. Call 209-869-7008 to sign up.

The Mayor’s Book Club will be held on Monday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. Mayor Richard O’Brien will read a story to preschool age children and their families at the library following Story Time.

The library will host a Valentine Craft Bash on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 3:30 p.m. Children will create homemade Valentine’s Day cards using colorful hearts and paper. Crafters can also make heart-shaped bags and candy airplanes.

This month’s Art Lab program will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 3:30 p.m. Children will experiment with salt and watercolor paint to make interesting effects while creating works of art, such as winter scenes and brilliant fireworks.

The Riverbank Library Book Club will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. to discuss Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo. Library book clubs provide an opportunity for community members to expand their knowledge of books through meaningful discussion with others.
