Teens Can Grab Last Bit Of Summer Freedom

What youngster that you know wouldn’t relish the chance to exercise his (or her) last little bit of summer freedom? Well, Riverbank teenagers will have the chance to do just that, thanks to the city Parks and Recreation Department.

The weekend before school starts next month, Aug. 8, they’ll have the opportunity to participate in an All-Nighter at the Riverbank Teen Center, 3600A Santa Fe St., in the downtown area.

Check in time is 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, with the event running from 8 p.m. until 8 a.m. the next day, Aug. 5. The cost for the all-nighter is $15, and participants must be checked in by an adult.

Activities will include board and video games, music tournaments, challenges and more, officials say.

Participants are asked to bring a sleeping bag and pillow, an air mattress or sleeping pad, a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Pre-registration is advised because space is limited, and the pre-registration can be done either at the Recreation Office in City Hall, 6707 Third St., or at the Teen Center.

More information is available by calling the office at 209-863-7150, or the center, at 209-869-7023.
