The Riverbank Federated Women’s Club has resumed its regular monthly meeting schedule, with members enjoying a Salad Social before its recent meeting and a new group of officers presiding over the group’s activities.

Mary Wolgamot is this year’s president, with Diane Tollefson serving as vice president. Therese McHugh will be membership secretary, Adrina Panero is corresponding secretary while Chris Edwards is serving as recording secretary. Marilyn McRitchie is treasurer and Mary Lomax is parliamentarian.

The women’s club raises money with its public events to provide a number of scholarship awards to local students, particularly girls, to help further their education, according to Wolgamot. One main event scheduled to return this year is the Christmas Luncheon to be held in December at the Community Center.

The group had to forego the event last year, as the center was undergoing a major renovation project.

The club meets on the third Tuesday of each month between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., at the Riverbank Scout Hall, 3017 High St., next to the city corporation yard.

Next month’s program is scheduled to be a presentation by City Parks and Recreation Director Sue Fitzpatrick. She will be updating the group on the city’s plans to apply for Proposition 68 funds for a major renovation and expansion of Community Center Park, including the swimming pool and adjacent playground.
