Stanislaus County Office of Education’s YES (Youth Entertainment Stage) KIDS will present Disney’s “Peter Pan JR” at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto next month. Performance dates are Friday, March 9 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11 at 3 p.m.

Tickets, priced from $14 to $24, are currently on sale at the Gallo Center for the Arts or can be purchased online at: www.GalloArts.org. The show is not recommended for children under 2.

In this performance, Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a fierce Indian tribe, a band of bungling pirates, and the villainous Captain Hook.

This year, nearly 80 fourth through eighth grade students from 38 schools throughout Stanislaus County will participate. Learning firsthand the thrill and enchantment of performing, YES KIDS receive a broad educational experience, gaining insights from YES Mentors – YES Company alumni who return to volunteer as rehearsal and backstage assistants.

Students from Crossroads Elementary in Riverbank and Fair Oaks Elementary in Oakdale are among those taking part in the performance.

Now in its 26th season, well over 190,000 community members have attended a YES Company performance since the Company’s first summer production in 1992. This special performance troupe brings students from diverse backgrounds together and provides positive after school, weekend, and summer activities.

Disney’s “Peter Pan JR” is presented through special arrangement with, and all authorized performance materials are supplied by, Music Theatre International (MTI).
