The Riverbank Youth Baseball-Softball Association (RYBSA) 2013 season has begun. Friends and families gathered at the Riverbank Community Center on Saturday, March 16 to launch the festivities for Opening Day at Castleberg Park.

Teams were assembled on Santa Fe Street in full uniforms with their team banners to start the parade.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department took the lead in the parade, marching from the Community Center location, followed by the Riverbank Cub Scout Pack 10, then the teams, ending with the big red fire truck from Engine Co. 26, Stanislaus Consolidated.

The teams and their families proceeded along the streets of Riverbank until they reached Castleberg Park. The festivities continued at the park with team introductions and the ceremonial first pitch(es) thrown by Mayor Richard O’Brien and Kerrie Webb from Riverbank Parks and Recreation Department.

Steve Bosworth, President of the RYBSA, was the master of ceremonies. A full slate of games was played out at the Castleberg Park fields throughout the day on Saturday.
