The Riverbank Historical Society Museum at 3237 Santa Fe will be the site for a special event in the City of Action this weekend.
Love Riverbank City Leader Sammi Martinez said officials have been able to confirm hosting a “Kindness Rock” painting activity and it is scheduled for Saturday, March 14. The event is open to all interested and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Historical Society museum downtown.
“We are partnering with the Riverbank Rocks, Oakdale Riverbank Book Exchange and the Riverbank Historical Society to welcome the community to paint St. Patrick’s themed kindness rocks as part of our “Sharing Luck” campaign for March,” Martinez explained. “We hope to encourage community members to paint kindness rocks to hide amongst the community to spread kindness and luck to others.”
She said all ages are welcome and though it’s a small event, she said the goal is just to offer “something to bring the community together” in a fun, unique way.
Meanwhile, Martinez said plans are also underway for this year’s edition of Love Riverbank, set for Saturday, April 25 from 8 a.m. to noon.
Sponsorship opportunities are available and there are also plenty of ways to get involved, from being a project leader to donating supplies, or gathering a group of volunteers to help.
Past projects have included a pet food donation drive, park clean-up efforts, planting flowers and trees and visiting area senior care homes.
