Signaling the start of summer - along with temperatures that finally hit the 90-degree mark over the holiday weekend - Riverbank's Farmers' Market will be open for business today, Wednesday, June 2.
The market runs each Wednesday in the city's Community Center Park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the summer. There is something different each and every week, with a number of special events scheduled to go along with the crafts, fresh produce, and entertainment.
Coming up June 9, next week, is the Stanislaus County Senior Coupon distribution night; you must be low income and 62 years old to qualify. For more information, call Norma Torres-Manriquez at 863-7153.
Another downtown event happening this week is Friday's Blues 'n Bibs, offering music and ribs from a cook-off scheduled between rival teams of the Sheriff's and Fire departments. See additional information regarding this event on page A-3 of this week's issue.
