There will be a mobile career center rolling through Riverbank this Friday for anyone that needs assistance with job searching and résumé building. The Central Valley Opportunity Center (CVOC) along with the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) that assists low-income people with their energy bills will be available on Friday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at 2400 Stanislaus St., in downtown Riverbank.
The unit has Wi-Fi and laptops available for résumé creation and job searches and is open to anyone and folks can walk in at any time while they are there. The HEAP program is by appointment and the number to schedule an appointment is 209-338-0004.
The mobile unit is available for events in Merced, Madera, and Stanislaus counties. There are also training programs available. CVOC is a non-profit training and employment community agency that offers people in the Central Valley programs and links to community resources at no cost. Currently they are offering training classes for Class A Truck Driver, forklift, welding, Business occupations, solar panel installer, and cooking.
