Multiple units respond to fire call at Haidlen

Several fire engines were dispatched to the scene of a potential commercial structure fire in Oakdale early Sunday afternoon, March 22. The fire was reported at the local Haidlen Ford car dealership in the1300 block of East F Street.

Engine 28, out of Oakdale, was the first to arrive on scene and the crew reported light smoke showing. Additional units came in with Engines 23, 24, 26, 27 and 29 along with firefighters and equipment from Battalions 2 and 5.

Upon entering the building, crews reported locating a small fire in the parts department area of the business and were able to contain the fire to the area of origin.

Traffic was detoured around the scene during the response; Oakdale Police directed traffic off F Street at Johnson Avenue on the west and at Maag Avenue on the east while firefighters extinguished the fire.

The cause of the fire was being investigated.
