In the spirit of giving this holiday season, officials with the Central Valley Community Resources (CVCR) spread some Christmas joy, distributing brand new tennis shoes to those in need.
CVCR leaders said that they received a donation of about 35 pairs of name brand shoes including Fila, Nike, and Vans in a variety of styles and sizes. The shoes were donated for men, women and youngsters that are homeless in the Riverbank community. Members of the CVCR organization distributed the shoes last week at the Community Center Park gazebo. They provided a lunch and shared some holiday cheer as part of the giveaway as well. CEO Darlene Barber-Martinez noted that people were so appreciative and thankful to receive the shoes. She said that they commented that the shoes were nice, pretty and comfortable.
