Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 1-14-26

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home as part of Battalion 5; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area, as part of Battalion 2. Note: Shifts are in 24-hour time periods, from 5 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Jan. 6 through Monday, Jan. 12. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, JAN. 12

Battalion 2: Crews rotated through Station 15 for annual face mask fit testing.

Crews completed Monday apparatus inspections.

Battalion 5: Companies completed weekly apparatus and equipment maintenance.

Battalion 5 companies rotated through Fire Station 15 and completed annual SCBA fit testing.

 

SUNDAY, JAN. 11

Battalion 2: Battalion 2 companies worked on station and apparatus maintenance throughout the shift.

8:52 p.m. – Engine 26 responded to Claus Road and Patterson Road for a vehicle into the median at the railroad tracks.

Battalion 5: Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s, completed mandated Target Solution assignments, and conducted apparatus checks and station maintenance.

 

SATURDAY, JAN. 10

Truck 1, Engine 3, Engine 19, and Engine 29 conducted Engineer training at the RFTC for current Firefighters preparing for the Engineer testing process.

Battalion 2: 12:27 p.m. – Engine 26 responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Westgate Drive and Oakdale Road. Upon arrival, they found one vehicle on the sidewalk and one person with minor injuries. Riverbank PD is currently investigating the cause of the accident.

4:52 p.m. – Engines 23, 4456, and Battalion 2 responded to a vehicle accident at the LaGrange OHV Park. E4456 was the first to arrive and found one person with a significant injury to her lower leg. They landed PHI 41 nearby who provided patient care. The patient was flown to a local trauma hospital. E23 assisted with patient packaging. CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.

Battalion 5: 9:35 a.m. – Engine 26 and Battalion 5 responded for an EMS CPR call on Equine Court in Riverbank. Engine 26 arrived on scene along with Oak Valley Ambulance and provided ALS care. Crews were on scene for nearly 30 minutes providing care and were able to gain pulses back on the patient. The patient was transported to Memorial Hospital for further care. Crews assisted family with getting to the hospital to be with the patient.

Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s, completed mandated Target Solution assignments, conducted apparatus checks and station maintenance.

Engine 27 conducted training focusing on engineer evolutions.

6:55 p.m. – Engine 29 and Battalion 5 assisted Tuolumne County for an LZ to land a helicopter for patient transport to Memorial Hospital.

 

FRIDAY, JAN. 9

Battalion 2: Crews attended First Due Report writing training at the RFTC.

Battalion 5: Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s along with completing mandated Target Solution assignments.

Crews conducted apparatus checks and station maintenance.

Battalion 5 companies rotated through First Due training at the RFTC.

11:13 a.m. – Engine 27, Engine 26, Quint 22, and Battalion 5 responded to a potential structure fire in the 100 block of Stanislaus Street. Engine 27 arrived on scene to a single-story residence with nothing visible from the exterior. Upon further investigation the crew found an electrical issue and a faulty ground. The utility companies were notified, and Engine 27 remained on scene until they arrived.

5:30 p.m. – Engine 27, Engine 28 and Battalion 5 responded to an injury accident on Highway 108 and Mondo Lane. Engine 27 arrived on scene to a three-vehicle accident with one minor injury. Oak Valley provided patient care and Engine 27 assisted with traffic control until CHP arrived.

6:21 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27 and Battalion 5 responded to an injury vehicle accident on Valley Home Road and 26 Mile Road. Engine 28 arrived on scene to find one vehicle that hit a bicyclist and was off the roadway. The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was transported by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center. A firefighter from E28 assisted with patient care enroute to the hospital.

 

THURSDAY, JAN. 8

Battalion 2: Crews attended First Due Report writing training at the RFTC.

6:24 p.m. – Engine 9, Quint 22, and Battalion 2 responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident at Parker and Wellsford. E9 found a seriously injured individual, who was taken to a local hospital by Oak Valley Ambulance with Q22 assisting. CHP is investigating the cause.

Battalion 5: Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s.

Crews completed mandated Target Solution assignments, conducted apparatus checks and station maintenance.

Battalion 5 companies rotated through First Due training at the RFTC.

BC5 and Engine 29 attended the Oakdale Fire Protection District Board Meeting.

Engine 28 and Engine 27 trained on rural water supply and water shuttle operations.

4 p.m. – Engine 29 and BC5 responded to the report of a vehicle fire at Burchell Nursery in Oakdale. Engine 29 arrived on scene to find one vehicle on fire on a dirt road with no threat to any structures. Engine 29 quickly extinguished the fire and assisted the property owner with any needs.

 

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 7

Battalion 2: 9:43 a.m. – Engine 26 responded to Minniear at Roselle Avenue to assist Animal Control retrieve a deceased dog from a canal.

3:56 p.m. – Engine 26, Engine 7, Quint 22, and BC2 responded to a residence on Terminal Avenue in Riverbank for a potential structure fire. Engine 26 arrived and determined it was an issue with the gas heater. They isolated the unit and canceled the balance.

Battalion 5 companies rotated through First Due training at the RFTC.

Crews completed mandated Target Solution assignments.

Crews conducted apparatus checks and station maintenance.

 

TUESDAY, JAN. 6

Battalion 2: 12:21 p.m. – Engine 26 was dispatched to a smoke check along the Stanislaus River. Engine 26 began to investigate and determined the fire was in the Escalon Fire District. They were requested and 26 cleared.

Battalion 5: Engine 29 assisted a citizen with removal of cactus thorns from their hand.

5:44 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 26 and Battalion 5 responded to the intersection of North Yosemite Avenue/East E Street in Oakdale for a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Engine 28 arrived and found two vehicles involved in a traffic collision, including a Stanislaus County sheriff’s department patrol car. Two adults were transported via ground ambulance and one child was transported via air ambulance with minor to moderate injuries. Oakdale PD investigating.
