The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.
Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Dec. 28 through Monday, Jan. 3. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.
MONDAY, JAN. 3
8:44 a.m. – Engine 27 responded to a reported vehicle on fire in the 2300 block of West F Street in the City of Oakdale. Engine 27 arrived to find a fully involved disabled vehicle behind the residence. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished.
SATURDAY, JAN. 1
12:26 a.m. – Modesto Fire Department and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District responded to a working structure fire on the 2500 Block of Rolling Brook Way. On scene crews found a single-story home with smoke showing from the garage and a fire sprinkler discharging water in the garage. The home was checked and there were no other signs of fire. Crews confirmed the fire was out and turned off the water to the home. They removed water-soaked material from the garage. A fire appeared to have started in the garage that set off the fire sprinkler, preventing the fire from spreading.
No time listed – Engines 26, 27, 28, 7, 9, 3, and Quint 22 responded for the report of a roof on fire in the city of Riverbank. On scene they had a small fire in the attic of an occupied home. Crews quickly knocked down the fire and performed salvage in the fire area. One occupant was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
No time listed – Engines 28, 27, and Battalion Chief 5 responded for the report of a vehicle accident north of Oakdale. On scene all occupants of the vehicles were assessed for injuries. One adult was transported with minor injuries.
FRIDAY, DEC. 31
7:37 p.m. – Engine 28 responded to Lon Dale Road and Victory Avenue for a vehicle fire. Engine 28 arrived on scene to find a van with an engine compartment fire and all occupants out of the vehicle. The van was located just outside of the Stanislaus County line in San Joaquin County.
9:05 p.m. – Modesto Fire Department and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District responded to a potential structure fire on the 4000 Block of Knights Way for the report of a smoke detector sounding in a home and the smell of smoke coming from the home. On scene the crews found that there was burnt food left on the stove. Crews cleared the home of smoke.
11:58 p.m. – Modesto Fire Department and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District responded to a working structure fire on the 2700 Block of Carmella Way. Crews found an exterior fire that appeared to have spread to the interior of the home. The fire was knocked down and the interior of the home was checked for extension. Four people were displaced by the fire.
THURSDAY, DEC. 30
12:05 a.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27 and BC5 responded to a motor vehicle accident on 26-Mile Road. Engine 28 arrived to find a single vehicle into a power pole and began to check for injuries. Engine 28 found the vehicle unoccupied. CHP investigating.
12:46 p.m. – Units responded to Highway 108 and Langworth Road for the report of a motorcycle versus a car. One person was evaluated on scene and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. CHP is investigating.
TUESDAY, DEC. 28
6:49 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 29, Engine 27 and BC5 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 108 with possible entrapment. Engine 28 arrived to find a single vehicle involved and began to check for injuries. Engine 28 found all occupants out of the vehicle; the accident was determined to be non-injury. CHP is investigating.
