Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 10-27-21

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Oct. 19 through Monday, Oct. 25. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, OCT. 25

SUNDAY, OCT. 24

Crews responded to several tree down calls and vehicle accidents throughout the day and night directly attributed to the weather system that brought a heavy rainfall.

 

SATURDAY, OCT. 23

9 a.m. – Modesto Engine 1 and Battalion Chief 1 attended the Making Strides against Breast Cancer event at Modesto Junior College. Truck 5 placed the American flag up for the event.

Crews all participated in “Battalion Drills” gathering several crews from within the MCST (Modesto Ceres, Stanislaus, Turlock) agencies to train on several topics including a review of a significant MST fire from earlier this year, hoseline stretches, hose stacking operations, pumping evolutions, RAM monitor operations, SCBA air management and general apparatus/equipment orientation.

 

FRIDAY, OCT. 22

Battalion 1 worked with prospective captain and battalion chief candidates on command and control scenarios.

 

THURSDAY, OCT. 21

Modesto Engines 28, 29, 27 and Battalion Chief 5 responded to a report of a multi-vehicle accident at Milton Road and Highway 4. Upon arrival crews checked for injured parties and found none. One truck and travel trailer flipped and the other car had major damage.

 

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 20

1:30 p.m. – Battalion Chief 3 conducted Captains and BC training for candidates for the upcoming promotional exam.

The Bauer breathing air compressor was delivered and installed at the training division in Ceres. This will be a great asset for the new hire academy that will be starting next week.

 

TUESDAY, OCT. 19

Crews rotated through the Fire Training Division for quarterly EMS skills review.
