Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 11-5-25

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home as part of Battalion 5; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area, as part of Battalion 2. Note: Shifts are in 24-hour time periods, from 5 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Oct. 28 through Monday, Nov. 3. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, NOV. 3

Battalion 2: Engine 26 and Battalion 2 attended the grand opening of American Veterans First in Riverbank. The new location is downtown near City Hall.

11:59 a.m. – Engine 26 and Oak Valley Ambulance responded to a single motorcycle accident in the 5300 block of Claus Road. One person had minor injuries. Riverbank PD is investigating.

Battalion 5: Crews completed weekly apparatus and equipment checks.

Companies completed weekly station maintenance.

Congratulations to Probationary Firefighter John Rohrabaug (Engine 27) for passing his 10-month testing process.

Chief 2 and Battalion 5 attended the Oakdale City Council Meeting.

3:46 p.m. – OES 4615 and Battalion 2 to Milton and Highway 4 for an escaped illegal burn. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a small roadside grass fire because of a controlled burn. The fire was extinguished without incident.

 

SUNDAY, NOV. 2

Battalion 2: Crews worked on Target Solutions assignments.

Crews across the battalion worked on station maintenance and apparatus floors.

11:55 a.m. – Engine 7, Engine 26, Truck 5 and BC1 responded to a potential structure fire in the 2000 block of Portside Drive in Riverbank for the smell of smoke inside the residence. Engine 7 arrived to find nothing showing and began to investigate. Engine 7 was unable to find any hazards in the residence and canceled the balance.

Battalion 5: Engine 29 visited with the community at the Knights Ferry Annual Pumpkin Roll.

9:13 a.m. – Engine 29, Engine 28 and BC5 responded to a person down in Knights Ferry at Sonora Road and Dent Street. One patient suffered minor injuries after a fall. Paramedic FF Engine 29 assessed the patient and packaged them for transport to a local hospital. Engine 28 was cancelled.

11:13 a.m. – Engine 27 responded to the 1400 block of West F Street in Oakdale for a vehicle into a building. Engine 27 confirmed no one was injured and assessed the building.

 

SATURDAY, NOV. 1

Battalion 2: Crews worked on Target Solutions assignments.

Saturday training occurred across the battalion.

Battalion 5: Fire Explorer wildland training was conducted in Knights Ferry

7:07 p.m. – Engine 27 was dispatched for a report of a vehicle fire in the 5200 block of Wilkins Avenue in Oakdale. An additional report advised of a travel trailer on fire next to a barn. The dispatched was upgraded to a working structure fire. Engine 27, WT27, BC5, Engine 28, Quint 22, BC2, Engine 23, WT23, Engine 7, Engine 9, Engine 26, FIU, Escalon WT 1-1, and Oak Valley ambulance responded. Crews arrived on scene with a well involved trailer with fire extending into the barn. All occupants had evacuated prior to our arrival. Crews placed two hose lines into service quickly to contain the fire and limit the extension to the barn. FIU determined the fire to be accidental in nature. There were no injuries reported.

 

FRIDAY, OCT. 31

Battalion 2: Crews completed their daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Battalion 5: Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s and completed mandated Target Solution assignments.

Crews conducted apparatus checks and station maintenance.

Engine 29 attended the Knights Ferry Halloween Parade.

Engine 27 and Battalion 5, along with Stanislaus County Sherriff and CHP, attended the Valley Home School Halloween Parade.

Engine 28 and Battalion 5 participated in the Oakdale City Halloween Parade.

Engine 29 and Battalion 5 attended the Valley Home Trunk or Treat event.

 

THURSDAY, OCT. 30

Battalion 2: Crews completed their daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Annual hose testing was conducted at the RFTC.

Battalion 5: Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s, completed mandated Target Solution assignments, and conducted apparatus checks and station maintenance.

11 p.m. – Engine 9, Engine 26, Q22 and Battalion 5 responded to an injury vehicle accident on Claus Road and Terminal. Engine 26 located one vehicle on the side of the road and investigated. The crew found the vehicle to be stranded and not involved in an accident. Engine 26 crew members assisted with getting the motorist back on the roadway.

 

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 29

Battalion 2: Hose testing for MST has started at the RFTC. All of the Modesto and Stanislaus Engine Companies will rotate through the RFTC over the next 12 days to have all of the supply hoses tested.

Engine 26 participated in First Responder Anti-Drug Assembly at the Riverbank Language Academy.

Battalion 5: Daily equipment checks were performed.

Weekly equipment maintenance and station maintenance were performed at the Valley Home Station.

Engine 27 worked on Probationary Firefighter sign offs at Station 17.

 

TUESDAY, OCT. 28

Battalion 2: Engine 26 and Inspector Sansing participated in a public education presentation at Mesa Verde Elementary School in Riverbank. The session addressed topics such as stop, drop, and roll procedures, the importance of smoke detectors, and appropriate situations for calling 911.

Battalion 5: Companies completed apparatus checks and equipment maintenance.

Engine 28 attended a public education for fire prevention month at the Walnut Woods Shopping Center.
