Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 12-10-25

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home as part of Battalion 5; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area, as part of Battalion 2. Note: Shifts are in 24-hour time periods, from 5 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Dec. 2 through Monday, Dec. 8. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, DEC. 8

Battalion 2: Apparatus and equipment checks were completed across the battalion.

Battalion 5: Crews in Battalion 5 conducted their weekly station maintenance and apparatus checks.

 

SUNDAY, DEC. 7

Battalion 2: Crews worked on completing Target Solutions.

Crews completed exterior station maintenance including yard work.

Battalion 5: Engine 29 participated in the Knights Ferry Christmas parade on Sunday afternoon.

 

SATURDAY, DEC. 6

Battalion 2: Crews completed their daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Battalion 5: Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s, completed mandated Target Solution assignments and conducted apparatus checks and station yard maintenance.

4:30 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 26, Quint 22, and Battalion 2 responded to a potential structure fire on Lee Avenue. Engine 28 arrived on scene with nothing showing and investigated. Crews located burnt food on the stove and the response was cancelled. Engine 28 remained on scene to help ventilate the residence.

Engine 27, OES4617 and Battalion 5 participated in the Oakdale Christmas Parade. The crews and their families decorated the Engine and enjoyed the holiday festivities with the community.

 

FRIDAY, DEC. 5

Battalion 2: Crews completed their daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Consolidated personnel attended the MST driving instructor training meeting at Station 17.

Battalion 5: Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s, completed mandated Target Solution assignments and conducted apparatus checks and station yard maintenance.

Station 29’s crew took the opportunity to decorate the station for Christmas.

12:30 p.m. – Engine 26, Engine 27, Engine 28 and Battalion 5 responded to an injury accident with the report of a subject trapped on Highway 108 and Eighth Street, Riverbank. Engine 26 arrived on scene to find a three-vehicle accident with two patients, one immediate and one delayed, both trapped in the vehicle. A second ambulance was requested, and crews were able to extricate the patients in roughly 10 minutes. One patient was transported to Memorial Medical Center with the Paramedic from E26 assisting with patient care enroute to the hospital. The second patient was transported to Doctors Medical Center for further evaluation.

 

THURSDAY, DEC. 4

Battalion 2: Pump testing began at Station 23. All front-line engines were pump tested.

Battalion 5: Crews completed daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Engine 29 completed weekly apparatus checks and station maintenance at Station 30.

Engine 27 and Engine 29 performed a pre-incident walk through of a local target hazard building.

 

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 3

Battalion 2: Stations 21, 22, and 26 had new SR911 dispatchers ride along and experience some fire ground evolutions. Engine 21 trained on hoseline management. Quint 22 trained with saws, and Engine 26 trained on EMS.

Battalion 5: Crews completed daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Engine 28 assisted a resident with a ring stuck on their finger. Firefighter Evans was able to quickly get the ring removed.

Engine 27 trained on hose evolutions and how to access difficult areas while accessing a fire.

2:04 a.m. – Engine 28, Engine 29 and Battalion 5 to Milton Road and Dunton Road for a vehicle accident. Crews arrived on scene to find one vehicle through a power pole with wires down. One patient was treated for minor injuries. Firefighters remained on scene until PG&E secured the power and removed the lines from the roadway.

 

TUESDAY, DEC. 2

Battalion 2: 5:38 p.m. – Engine 26, Engine 7, Quint 22, and BC5 responded to Cypress Woods Circle for a reported chimney fire. Crews arrived to find a large custom two-story house with a chimney fire. The homeowner had started a fire in the fireplace that ignited some of the creosote up on the walls of the chimney. The homeowner squirted a garden hose up the chimney and was able to put the fire out. Crews checked the attic space to ensure there was no extension out of the chimney. They cleared shortly thereafter.
