Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 6-1-22

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, May 24 through Monday, May 30. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, MAY 30

Crews performed weekly apparatus maintenance.

 

SUNDAY, MAY 29

1:06 p.m. – Water Rescue 28, WR29, E27 and BC5 responded to the Stanislaus River for the report of missing kayakers. Multiple victims were located and rescued. The individuals were taken to Station 29 in Knights Ferry for evaluation by EMS.

2:42 p.m. – Water Rescue 28, WR29, E27 and BC5 crews responded to the Stanislaus River along Lancaster Road for a kayaker stuck in brush and separated from his kayak. One individual was rescued and had no medical needs.

10:14 p.m. – Crews responded to Oakdale Road/Freddi Lane in Riverbank for a vehicle accident with reported pin in. One patient was extricated and transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. Law enforcement is investigating.

 

SATURDAY, MAY 28

8:08 p.m. – Engine 28 and BC5 responded to a medical aid for a subject injured at Woodward Reservoir. Engine 28 secured a landing zone, and the patient was flown via helicopter to the emergency room from the scene.

 

FRIDAY, MAY 27

Crews conducted probationary firefighter training working on various hose management evolutions. The driver trainers continued to train the new and prospective engineers on various apparatus skills, focusing on tractor draw apparatus sign offs and operations.

 

THURSDAY, MAY 26

Engine 29 conducted a fire safety presentation for the local elementary school.

9:46 p.m. – Modesto Engine 7 and BC5 responded to an assault with deadly weapon in the 2400 block of Claribel Road. Crews arrived on-scene of an assault victim and assisted with patient care to a local hospital. Stanislaus County Sherriff’s Department is investigating.

 

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25

9:17 p.m. – Q22 and BC5 responded to Daly Avenue/Tenaya Drive for a vehicle accident. Crews located a vehicle that had left the roadway. One occupant suffered minor injuries. Law enforcement remained on scene investigating.
