The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.
Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, July 12 through Monday, July 18. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.
SUNDAY, JULY 17
1:13 p.m. – BC2 and Brush/WT 23 responded to a vegetation fire in the 1700 block of South Yosemite in the City of Oakdale. The fire burned adjacent to several businesses and was quickly contained.
SATURDAY, JULY 16
7:30 p.m. – Modesto and Stanislaus crews assisted Ripon and Salida Fire with a vegetation fire that originated in San Joaquin County. Approximately 1- to 2-acres along the river that was contained with no structures involved.
9:30 p.m. – Modesto and Stanislaus crews assisted Escalon Fire with a vegetation fire in San Joaquin County.
10:30 p.m. – Modesto, Stanislaus and Keyes Fire crews responded to multiple roadside vegetation fires along Terminal, Claus and Santa Fe roads. No structures threatened.
FRIDAY, JULY 15
Station 29 conducted company level training
8:54 a.m. – Grass 29, Brush 28, Brush/WT 27, BC5 and Cal Fire TCU responded to a reported motorhome on fire on State Highway 4 near Dunton Road. Crews arrived to find a large motorhome fully involved with quarter of an acre of vegetation on fire. Companies quickly contained the vegetation fire and completed extensive overhaul on the motorhome. CHP assisting on scene.
THURSDAY, JULY 14
The SCFPD board meeting was held at Station 26.
12:45 p.m. – Engine 28 was dispatched to a vehicle vs. pedestrian in the City of Oakdale. Crews arrived to find a single patient with major injuries. The patient was transported from the scene to a local emergency room. OPD investigating.
11:28 p.m. – Engine 27 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident and arrived to find a single vehicle roll-over. Crews found one patient with minor injuries. OPD investigating.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 13
8:40 a.m. – E7 and BC2 were dispatched to a cardiac arrest call in thew 4600 block of Claus Road. E3 was in the area and attached as well. On scene a male was found, high performance CPR was conducted utilizing the Lucas device. After 40 minutes with no improvement, base contact was made and the patient was determined to be deceased.
TUESDAY, JULY 12
Engine 28, 27, 29, BC5, Cal Fire responded for a vehicle accident on Highway 4, west of Calaveras County line. Engine 28 arrived first and was able to handle with ambulance on scene.
11:51 p.m. – E23 was dispatched to the report of a vehicle fire on Albers at dry creek. On arrival they found a well involved stolen vehicle that had spread to the vegetation. They were able to extinguish both.
