Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 7-28-21

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, July 20 through Monday, July 26. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

 

MONDAY, JULY 26

Crews were rotated through Station 17 for administrative training.

Strike Team 4201C was redeployed to the Dixie Fire.

3:53 p.m. – Crews were dispatched to a vehicle and small vegetation fire along 26-Mile Road.

 

SUNDAY, JULY 25

Probationary firefighter training continued with rope training exercises at Station 28 in Oakdale.

 

SATURDAY, JULY 24

12:13 a.m. – Modesto, Ceres and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire units responded to the 1600 block of Richland Avenue in Ceres for a report of an apartment on fire. On arrival a two-story apartment building was found with fire coming from two apartments. The incident was upgraded to a third alarm for potential extension of the fire. Crews were able to quickly put two hose lines in place and confine the fire to the two apartments. The additional alarms were canceled. The FIU was on scene conducting the investigation. Red Cross was contacted for the displaced occupants.

 

FRIDAY, JULY 23

Technical Rescue Team members and Probationary Firefighters conducted auto extrication training using donated vehicles from Pick-n-Pull.

12:58 p.m. – Engine 9 responded to a report of a vegetation fire near Claus and Creekwood. Engine 9 found a quarter-acre vegetation fire burning in the area. As Engine 9 was extinguishing the fire a second fire in the same area was reported. Engine 9 found a small 10’ by 10’ area on fire at the second location. The FIU was called to the scene for the investigation.

 

THURSDAY, JULY 22

Training was conducted by crews on auto extrication and fire suppression.

8:52 a.m. – Modesto Fire Department and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District responded to the 11000 block of Rodden Road outside of Oakdale for a garage fire. The fire was contained to the garage. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

10:21 a.m. – Stanislaus Engine 24, Engine 23, Modesto Battalion 1, Oak Valley Ambulance, PHI and CHP responded to a solo vehicle accident in the 900 block of Hazeldean Road in Waterford. One patient was flown out by air ambulance with moderate injuries. CHP is investigating.

12:21 p.m. – Crews from Modesto, Ceres, Stanislaus Consolidated and Turlock City responded to a three alarm fire at Rouse and Colorado avenues. A single vehicle accident into a power pole sparked a fast moving vegetation fire that extended into multiple properties. One old barn type structure was lost. Crews were able to stop the fire from extending into any residences. The fire had progressed in and around 10 properties. The additional alarms were called as crews were working in high heat conditions. MPD assisted with evacuations and accessing properties involved. FIU is investigating the incident. MID secured the power as crews were fighting the fire.

 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 21

11:08 a.m. – Modesto Fire Department and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District responded to the 100 block of Ash Street in Oakdale for a small out building that was on fire. The crews were able to extinguish the fire before it could spread to other buildings. The Oakdale Police Department and the Stanislaus County FIU are investigating.

 

TUESDAY, JULY 20

7:06 p.m. – Modesto Engines 27, 28, 29, Battalion 5, CHP, Stanislaus Sheriff, Oak Valley Ambulance and Cal-Star 12 responded to a vehicle rollover on 26-Mile Road and Sonora Road. The driver sustained moderate injuries and was flown to a local hospital. CHP is investigating.
