Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 9-15-21

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Monday, Sept. 13. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, SEPT. 13

Weekly command staff meeting.

Crews performed Monday apparatus checks and station maintenance.

Grass-19 remains assigned to the Caldor Incident assisting with homeowners coming back to their homes and patrolling for hotspots.

 

SATURDAY, SEPT. 11

Engine 27, 28 and Battalion Chief 5 participated in the opening ceremonies for the Oakdale Soccer Club and the September 11th Remembrance Ceremony

Engine 27 participated in a public education event

8:43 a.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27 and BC5 responded to a potential structure fire in the City of Oakdale. Engine 28 located and isolated a small gas leak inside the residence.

 

FRIDAY, SEPT. 10

Personnel deployed to the Caldor Fire continued to improve control lines and mop up as they prepared for a storm front that brought additional dry lightning strikes. All members are doing well.

 

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 8

8:36 p.m. – Stanislaus Engine 26, Modesto Engine 7, Truck 5 and Battalion Chief 5 were dispatched to a potential structure fire in the 6000 block of Howard Avenue in the City of Riverbank. Stanislaus Engine 26 arrived to find nothing showing and began to investigate. Crews located a smoldering fire in the attic space of the residence. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished by responding companies.
