With many events in the world at a standstill and major efforts continuing to contain the coronavirus pandemic, the Oakdale Saddle Club has now officially postponed the 69th annual Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo. Hosted every year the second weekend of April, the annual PRCA, Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeo draws fans and competitors from around the globe. This year’s event was scheduled to take place Saturday and Sunday, April 11 and 12 at the Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo Grounds. The difficult decision to postpone the rodeo was reached late Thursday night.

In a statement issued by The Oakdale Saddle Club, officials said: “The Oakdale Saddle Club is heartbroken to announce that we will be postponing the 69th annual Oakdale Rodeo and all the events including the parade, dance, queen coronation, and local team roping. To stay in compliance with the city, county and state recommendations due to COIVD-19 we felt that postponing our event was inevitable. At a later date, our committee will reassess the situation and decide if we can hold our rodeo later this year.”

Officials added: “Please take care of yourselves, be kind to each other and please continue to follow our page for updates on our rodeo and other events!”
