Alfred Richard Martinez, 64, died Monday, March 26 at his home in Chicopee, Mass., surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Kingsburg to the late Frank and Luterria Martinez. His roots were in Riverbank and Oakdale. He attended Rio Altura Elementary School, then Cardozo Middle School in Riverbank. He graduated from Oakdale Joint High School in 1966, before a high school had been built in Riverbank. He also attended Modesto Junior College, Fresno State and San Jose State.
Mr. Martinez spent his last 10 years in Massachusetts after his marriage.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise Martinez of Chicopee, Mass.; sons, Ray, Alex, and Adam Martinez; daughter, Ali Martinez; brothers, Frank, Tony, Raymond and Roy Martinez.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 23 at St. Frances of Rome Church, 2827 Topeka St., Riverbank. Private burial will follow.
