Long time Oakdale resident, educator, and child advocate Anita Faye Theiler passed away on August 28, 2020. Anita was born on July 15, 1946 in Oakdale, California to Shorty and Pearl Hickman. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jimmy Theiler, parents Shorty and Pearl, and brother Donald Hickman. She is survived by her daughters Stacey Theiler Medley (Scott), Laurie Theiler, and son Jamie Theiler. She is also survived by granddaughters Haley Kjos (Travis), Sophia Deponte, and grandson Seth Medley. She leaves behind one brother Perry Hickman (Maria), and sisters in law Diane Swenson and Joanne Stump (Don).
She was a graduate of Oakdale High School, and an employee of Oakdale Joint Unified School District for over 46 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, soon to be great grandmother, friend, mentor, and educator. She was the co-owner of Theiler Custom Hay Service alongside her husband Jimmy for 35 years, which continued to operate for many years even after his passing in 2012. Anita was very active in her community, church, and school. She was always willing to lend a hand to her friends and family, supportive and caring towards her students, and always went the extra mile if needed.
Anita was one of a kind, a legend. She was a compassionate individual who always had a smile, kind word, and a hug for everyone she encountered. Her friends and family would describe her as one of the most passionate, loving, strong willed, inspirational, funny, and admirable people you would ever meet. Anita had a flair for fashion, jewelry, and decorating which went hand in hand with her favorite hobby; shopping. Her family, friends, students, and coworkers will always remember her for all these amazing traits that made her so original. She will truly be missed.
