Bert B. Newton, 89, died Saturday, March 27 at Riverbank Nursing Center.
He was a native of Los Angeles. He lived in Oakdale five years.
Mr. Newton served in the U.S. Army Corps.
He was a wood cutter for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Newton of Oakdale; children, Leslie Newton of Riverbank, Donita Lozarrie of Washington, and Steven Newton of Vacaville; two sisters; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 16 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Oakdale. No visitation.
