Clifford Lucien Lagier, 89, of Escalon passed away Tuesday, July 1 in Modesto.

Mr. Lagier was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1937 to 1945.

After marrying Doris Boyd in 1946, he moved to the Escalon area where he was an almond rancher for over 60 years. He loved the outdoors, especially his mountain cabin where fishing and water skiing were his favorite activities. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be lovingly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Doris Lagier; his children, Randy Lagier of Pullman, WA, Debi Lagier Scoles of Riverbank, and Daniel Lagier of Escalon; grandchildren, Tom Lagier, Patrick Lagier, both of Pullman, WA, Brigitte Lagier, Laura Lagier, both of Escalon and Jeremiah Knapp of Los Angeles; brother, Allen Lagier of Concord.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gilbert Lagier, Fred Lagier and Francis Lagier and sister, Elizabeth Del Don.

Graveside service will be Monday, July 14 at 11 a.m. at Ripon Cemetery, 320 No. Stockton Ave., Ripon.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.
