Donald Early McAnally, 57, of Riverbank died Tuesday, Jan. 31 after a sudden illness in Palo Alto.

He was born the third of four children to Verl and Marie McAnally in Oakdale. He attended school in Oakdale and raised his children here as well. He lived in Riverbank for the past 25 years.

Mr. McAnally started his career as a metal fabricator at Van Pelt's Fire Truck in Oakdale and finished his career with Burton Fire Apparatus.

He was always happiest in the outdoors - hunting, fishing, camping, and surrounded by family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Aaron (Liz) McAnally of Oakdale, Erica (John) Gomes of Ceres, and Jared McAnally of Ripon; mother, Marie McAnally of Riverbank; sisters, Susan (Lee) Winton of Pine Grove; Cindy (Steve) Webb of Oakdale; brother, Gary (Kathy) McAnally of Mariposa; and three grandchildren, Brendan, Madison and Kaely.

He was preceded in death by his father, Verl McAnally.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 at The Latter Day Saints Church, 1111 East A St., Oakdale. Reception to follow at the church.
