Doris Lucille Wright (Rivera), 84, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5.
She was born in Ponderosa, New Mexico on Oct. 16, 1929 to Clemente and Elizaida Rivera. She was the oldest of 13 children. She graduated from Oakdale High School in 1949. She married Vic Wright in Oakdale at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband Vic Wright of Turlock; daughters Petrilla Wright and her husband Tom Babcock of Santa Rosa, Linda and her husband Ken Parkins of Turlock, Joan Wright of Turlock; son, James and his wife Paulette Wright of Oakdale; grandchildren, Danielle Haggard and her husband Willie of Merced, Lindsey Parkins of Turlock, Eric Parkins and Jael Serrano of Turlock; great-grandchildren Bailey, Shawn, Rayven, Shayla, Isabelle, Anthony; many beloved nieces and nephews; and her siblings, Mike and Pat Rivera, Roland and Rosie Rivera, Carlo and Irene Rivera, Gloriana and Bob Schad, Phil and Kathy Rivera, Marie Rivera and sister-in-laws Pat Rivera and Marlin Seadorf.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Tony Rivera, Romeo Rivera, Josephine Leal, Lori Rivera, Frances Lett and Clem Rivera, Jr.
Doris will be remembered for her loving and selfless devotion not only to her family, but to her extended family and friends. The family also issues a special thanks to Hospice @EMC.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 12 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Rosary to be said at 6 p.m. at the chapel.
Funeral mass will be Friday, Dec. 13 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 89 N. Oak Ave., Oakdale at 10 a.m.
Internment at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery following mass.
