Douglas Arden Wey, 59, passed away on Friday, June 15 at Memorial Hospital.
He was born to Ransom and Verna Wey in Oakdale on Feb. 22, 1953 and lived in Riverbank and attended Riverbank schools.
He served in the National Guard as a Mess Hall Cook in the mid '70s where he obtained his love for cooking. He was employed with Oakdale Irrigation District for 34 years. Prior to OID, he worked the Wey family business in the hayfields with his father and brother.
Survivors include his children, Tina Wey, Doug (Amanda) Wey, and Randy (Jean) Wey, all of Modesto; eight grandchildren; his sisters, Donna Hendrix and Cindy Ingle; and four brothers, Steve, Gary, Roger and Jeff Wey.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and funeral services will be on Friday, June 22 at 10 a.m., both held at the Riverbank Memorial Chapel, 3131 Santa Fe Ave., Riverbank.
