Elferd L. 'Red' Evans, 79, of Oakdale died Friday, Aug. 15.

He was born in Blythe, California on Jan. 28, 1929.

He worked for United Can Co. in Hayward for 22 years, and he worked as a supervisor at Carnation Can Co., Riverbank, for 18 years. After retirement, he started his own business, EBS Consulting and Mfg., Inc.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He was President of the Oakdale Golf and Country Club in 1980, was 32nd Degree of the Knights Ferry Masonic Lodge #112.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and flying. He was an active pilot for more than 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; son, Steven Evans; and daughter, Cheryl Evans.

No services. Cremation arranged with the Neptune Society of Central CA.
