Esperanza Tapia, 70, died Thursday, Jan. 3 at her Riverbank home.
Mrs. Tapia was a native of Mexico. She lived in Riverbank 39 years.
She was a restaurant cook for 40 years. She was a member of St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Basilio Tapia of Riverbank; children, Lourdes Lopez of Riverbank, Jose Manuel Perez of Ceres, Leticia Mercado of Illinois, Carlos Perez of Arizona, Joseph Xavier Perez of San Francisco, Gabriela Ramirez of Riverbank, Roberto Tapia of Modesto, Ramona Patricia Tapia of Modesto; sister, Elena Tinajero of Riverbank; brothers, Enrique Yepez, Adolfo Yepez and Gabriel Yepez, all of Mexico; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held Jan. 7 and a mass was held Jan. 8, both at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church.
