Garry Steele, 81, of Oakdale, California, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Garry was born on August 11, 1944 in Taft, California, to Herman and Naomi Steele.

He spent over 50 years working as a truck driver and finished his career as an independent repair man for PG&E.

Garry loved a good project in his shop and letting his great grandchild raid his snack pantry. He was known for his hard work ethic and ingenuity.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Loretta Steele; his daughter and son in law, Kathy and Philip Shepherd, five step children; two grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Naomi Steele, and brother Ray Steele.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon, CA. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valley Home Community Park.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
