Henry Clayton Bruton, 68, of Oakdale died Monday, March 29 at the VA Hospital in Palo Alto.
He was a resident of Stanislaus County for 30 years and was a longtime resident of Oakdale.
Mr. Bruton was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served the country for six years from 1959 until 1965 and served on the USS Lowe.
He was a member of Sierra Baptist Church in Oakdale, and he performed many functions including maintenance, Deacon Chairman, usher, and hospital visitation ministry with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Stella of Oakdale; daughters, Patty Godinez, Debe Moody, Pauline Lofwall, Michelle King, Irene Stallings, and Amanda Green; sister, Pauline Martell; brother-in-law, Max Melendez of Riverbank; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Frank Canchola.
A chapel service was held April 2 at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson.
