Herbert Leon Rideout, 86, of Riverbank died Wednesday, Dec. 29 at his home.
A native of Glenpool, Okla., he lived in Millbrae for 45 years prior to moving to Riverbank three years ago. He was a foreman at Bethlehem Steel for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Rena Rideout of Riverbank; children, Paul Rideout of Riverbank and Nancy Bliss of San Francisco; sisters, Mable Uhlman and Dortha Taylor, both of Missouri; brother, Henry Rideout of San Carlos; four grandchildren ad six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Kathy Hachmiester.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. at Chapel of the Highlands, Millbrae. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5 at Riverbank Memorial Chapel and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday Jan. 7 at Chapel of the Highlands, Millbrae.
