Irma M. Hogate Blackmore, 98, died Friday, Feb. 25 in Reno, Nevada.

A native of Bladen, Nebraska, she spent many years of her life in Escalon. She received her Bachelor's Degree from San Francisco State University. She was a teacher in Stockton for many years. She retired from the Lincoln Unified School District after many years of service to her profession. She was an active member of the Lincoln Presbyterian Church for many years and was a former resident of O'Connor Woods in Stockton.

She is survived by her son, William and daughter-in-law Donna Blackmore of Reno; daughter, Virginia and son-in-law William Edsall of Reno; sister, M. Phyllis Cooney of Modesto; sister-in-law, Pauline Hogate of Citrus Heights; grandchildren, William G. Blackmore of Farmington, Callie Garcian of Riverbank, Karen Blackmore of Modesto, Bradley L. Blackmore of Oakdale, Jodi Garcia of Stockton and Elaine E. Haire of Rocklin; 11 great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild and six great-great-grandchildren, 10 nieces and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis L. Blackmore, Sr.; son Francis L. Blackmore, Jr.; sisters, Emma G. Hogate and Wilma F. Schwing; brother, William W. Hogate and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. A reception for family and friends will be held following the service at Lincoln Presbyterian Church, 900 Douglas Road, Stockton.

Remembrances may be sent to a favorite charity.
