Jacob Emilio Castellanos, age 6, left this earth to be with his Heavenly Father on June 16, 2016 at UCSF Benioff Children’’ Hospital. He was diagnosed June 3 with a rare brainstem tumor and passed away, peacefully, 13 days later.
Jacob was born in Modesto on June 6, 2010 to Lisa and Jesus Castellanos Jr. He lived his short life in Riverbank with his parents and his two brothers, Elijah and Lucas.
Jacob loved school and had just finished kindergarten at Crossroads Elementary. He was a very active boy, who was on the go, from sun up to sun down. He loved dinosaurs, cars (any toy really), cuddling, cooking with grandma, swimming, and playing with his brothers.
He had not met a stranger yet, who he couldn’t engage into a conversation or at least get to smile. His imagination was wild and he truly believed nothing was impossible. Jacob had a light in him that has not been extinguished by his passing, and it will continue to shine on in those that will forever remember him.
He is survived and missed by all of his family including one great-grandmother, both sets of grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapel. The family will have a private Church ceremony on Wednesday, but will have a Graveside Service for all to attend Thursday, June 30 at 9 a.m. at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon.
Memorials may be sent, in lieu of flowers, to Valley Children’s Hospital-Child Life Services, 9300 Valley Children’s Place, Madera, CA 93636.
