Jason Powell, 48, passed away on February 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on February 21, 1978 in Corpus Christi, Texas, Jason lived a life defined by faith, strength, and deep devotion to those he loved most.
He found peace in the outdoors – whether he was hunting, fishing, camping, or simply enjoying God’s creations. He had a passion for motorcycles, cars, shooting, and he could fix just about anything. He was known by many as ‘Mr. MacGyver’ because there was never a problem Jason couldn’t solve. Jason was named ‘neighborhood dad’ – always ready to lend a hand, share advice, or make others laugh.
More than anything, Jason was a family man. He was a cherished son to his mother, Arlene S. Powell. He was a proud and loving husband to his wife, Janelle, and a devoted and hardworking father to his children: Josslyn, Jessie, Jaylene, and Jaidan. His greatest joy in life was being a ‘Papa’ to his beloved grandchildren: Julianna, Annabella, Danielle, Jayen, Jaxon, and Jasper. His grandbabies held a special place in his heart, and he treasured every moment spent with them. His strength, kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing his faith carried him home to his father, Jessie R. Powell. Jason’s legacy carries on in the lives he touched and the family he loved so fiercely. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
