Judith Mae Walters passed away peacefully at home with family by her side after a brief illness on March 29, 2020. Judy was born Dec. 29, 1937 in Visalia, California and graduated from Richmond High School in 1956, then attended Contra Costa Community College.
Judy lived and worked in the East Bay area eventually becoming a hairdresser in 1971. Judy married Malcom Walters in 1983 and continued to live in Oakland before retiring in 2002 and subsequently moved to Oakdale, California.
Judy was an active member of the Oakdale Women’s Club, the Oakdale Garden Club and the Red Hatter’s. She cherished her time with these associations and made many close friends. She enjoyed reading and crafting and decorating her home in different seasons and holidays.
Judy and Malcolm moved to Tulare in 2019 to be closer to family.
Judy was laid to rest next to her son in a private ceremony at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward on July 21, 2020.
Judy was preceded in death by her only son Eddie and leaves behind her husband of 37 years, Malcolm. We will continue to celebrate Judy’s life and remember her for a vivacious spirit and generous heart.
